Common Admission Test (CAT) is an exam for admission into two-year MBA programmes at more than 20 IIMs located in India. CAT 2023 is eligible for 50% at the general candidate’s graduation. Candidates with CA, CS, ICWA degrees are also eligible to sit for the test. There is no limit on the number of candidates who can take the CAT examination. However, because of the COVID-19 epidemic in the past two years, a majority of the candidates were granted “promotion/pass” certification in place of mark sheets. Eligibility Criteria for CAT 2023
The complete eligibility requirements given below should be reviewed by candidates prior to applying for the CAT 2023:
- Qualification Exam: Candidates must have completed their Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an approved university or board.
- Minimum Marks: The candidate must have passed their qualifying examination with at least 50 percent marks or an equivalent CGPA. Candidates belonging to the PWD/ST/SC/PWD, they must pass with at least 45% marks.
- The age criteria: There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in the CAT exam.
- Candidates who have an qualification that is recognized from MHRD, Government of India (including AMICE of the Institution of Civil Engineers) are also qualified.
- Candidates who are at the end of their bachelor’s program, or its equivalent may also apply.
Admit Card CAT 2023 Download
The admit card for CAT has been made available through the website following conclusion of the applications. Candidates are able to download their admit cards on October 28, 2023, through the download link available on the website . They will need to enter the registered user ID and password. The candidate cannot get admission card using offline mode.
Candidates who have the admit card need to present their valid photo ID proof to prove their identification verification. If they fail to show the admit card as well as a photo ID proof candidates will not be permitted to sit for the exam.
CAT 2023 Exam Model
Below, candidates can review the full details of the exam pattern for the CAT 2023 exam:
- Exam Modality and Date: The Exam for CAT 2023 has been held on the 29th of November, 2023, in three sessions using the online (CBT) option.
- The type and number of questions The test will consist of a 100 questions. The questions will be of an objective and subjective nature.
- Exam Marks: The test will have a total of 300 marks.
- Time Duration: A time that lasts for 120 minutes will be allocated for the completion of the assignment.
- Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded. One mark will be taken off for every wrong answer.

Answer Key CAT 2023
Following the conclusion of the exam the board has announced the preliminary answer key for the CAT 2023. The answer key was made available on December 8, 2023.
In the event of an error on the answers key candidates may also contest the answer key prior to the end of the date. After examining the arguments the answer key was released to the Board. It was issued on the 31st of December, 2023.
CAT Exam 2023 Result
The CAT result was published on the 2nd of January, 2023 on the official website. To verify the results or download the scorecard candidates must input their User ID and password. After the announcement of results, the board has released the list of applicants who passed the test and were selected for the next admissions procedure.
The scorecard provides the information of the applicants and their performance during the entrance test. It contains sectional and overall scores and percentiles scored by candidates who took the exam.
Cut Off CAT 2023
The exam conduct authority will released the cut-off for the various categories after the release of the result. The cutoff can be released following the exam. Candidates who get scores that are equal to or higher than the cut-off mark can be admitted to the program. The cut-off marks will vary each year for every category.
